This years event will take place as usual at Copperhouse Pool, Hayle, on Sunday 2nd August. Coxes meeting will be at 0930 hrs and the first race will follow immediately afterwards. As with other championship events, gigs will be provided hopefully with seats but you will be required to provide your own oars, pins, lifejackets and radios.
A reminder that crews must be a genuine Under 14 crew and members of that club (current year 9 or below). Any composite crews must be declared. It may be possible to make up crews from any spare rowers on the day depending on numbers. However, any composite crews are not eligible to win the event or plate race but will have the opportunity to row twice.
Towers / Vehicles / Parking
There is no vehicular access to King Georges Memorial Walk on Sundays – this is a council directive – and we ask that your club help us support our local Town Council by respecting this. We have to place Marshalls out and we cannot allow people down this road (the one shown in red)
Please follow the main road through Hayle, until you can pass over the new Jubilee bridge, where you will find our club ready to direct you.
Gigs from 08:15
Parking will be in the carpark, 3 mins walk along the quay, with a tiny charge of £1 for the day.
Please park considerately – our club relies on the goodwill of the town and this Sunday you will represent the wider gig community.
Only vehicles with gigs / oars / or the disabled will be allowed through to the main rowing area. Hopefully you can appreciate that with 30 crews of U14’s, safety is a concern and so we like to keep the area safely clear of vehicles.
